Billing, Subscriptions & Refunds
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This policy explains how paid plans, renewals, cancellations, and refunds work on SilkRoom (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. All prices are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise.
Plans and add-ons
SilkRoom offers a free tier and paid subscription plans, plus optional one-time add-on packs (for example, extra photo or voice-message credits). The features and usage allotments for each plan are shown on our pricing page. We may change plans, prices, and allotments going forward; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.
Recurring billing and auto-renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, as you select) through our payment processor, Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize these recurring charges.
Usage allotments
Metered features (such as photos and voice notes) reset at the start of each billing month. Unused monthly allotment does not roll over. Add-on credit packs you purchase are added on top of your monthly allotment and persist across monthly resets until used.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account page, which opens the secure billing portal (or by contacting support@silkroom.io). When you cancel:
- your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, and
- it then drops to the free tier — you are not charged again.
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period; upgrades take effect immediately and may be prorated by the payment processor.
Refunds
Except where required by law, payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused allotments, and add-on credit packs. We may, at our discretion, grant a refund or credit — for example, for a duplicate charge or a verified billing error. To request one, email support@silkroom.io within 14 days of the charge with your account email and details.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants statutory cancellation or refund rights (such as the EU/UK right of withdrawal), those rights still apply; note that by starting to use digital content immediately you may waive certain withdrawal rights to the extent permitted by law.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend paid features until payment succeeds. Prolonged non-payment may result in the subscription being cancelled.
Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at support@silkroom.io — we can usually resolve it faster than a dispute. Initiating a chargeback for legitimate charges may result in suspension of your account.
